A few weeks ago, I picked up „Super Normal. Sensations of the Ordinary“ by Naoto Fukasawa and Jasper Morrison while visiting the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe in Hamburg. On the back of the book it says:
„Why do so many designs fail to pass the everyday test? Why is Normal disappearing, and when it’s gone how do we replace it? Is beauty just a question of looks, or could there be more to it than meets the eye? What makes a good object, and how come some objects get better with time?“
maybe this gives you a rough idea of the catalogue. It features objects by Alvar Aalto for Artek, Jasper Morrison for Vitra, Konstantin Grcic for Ittala, and Marc Newson for Alessi.
